Why some customers want to stay masked
An MRI isn’t just time alone in the scanner.
Before and after the scan, you’re often close to technologists and other staff for screening, positioning, coils, ear protection, contrast preparation and getting on and off the table.
If you prefer to remain masked during those close-contact moments, ReadiMask gives you a strapless option that has been independently determined MR Safe.
A seal that doesn’t depend on straps
ReadiMask uses a medical-grade adhesive around its perimeter to seal directly to your face.
There are no head straps or ear loops to interfere with positioning during an MRI.
In U.S. Army CCDC quantitative fit testing using a PortaCount, ReadiMask achieved a fit factor of 200+.
Why MRI facilities carefully screen what enters the scanner room
MRI systems use powerful magnetic and radiofrequency fields, so MRI staff carefully evaluate items that enter the MR environment. That’s why documented MR safety status matters.
MED Institute has independently determined that ReadiMask meets the definition of MR Safe under ASTM F2503-26 and can be labeled MR Safe. The determination applies while ReadiMask is worn during the MRI examination and is not limited to a particular MRI system or magnetic field strength.
Its construction contains no metallic structural components — no metal nose clip, staples, fasteners, or wires.

Putting on ReadiMask is simple
For the best application, put it on in front of a mirror.
Position it horizontally, gently seal alongside the nose and under the eyes, then slide your fingers down the sides and seal along the bottom.

What is ASTM F2503-26?
It’s the ASTM standard for marking items for safety in the MR (MRI) environment. It defines three categories — MR Safe, MR Conditional, and MR Unsafe. ReadiMask was determined MR Safe.
Can I bring ReadiMask into the MRI scanner room?

Does ReadiMask have a metal nose wire?
No. ReadiMask contains no metallic structural components — no metal nose clip, staples, fasteners, or wires.
Can I wear it with a head coil or while lying down?
ReadiMask has been determined MR Safe for use while worn during an MRI examination. Its strapless design has no head straps or ear loops. Because MRI coils, patient positioning, and individual fit vary, follow your MRI facility’s instructions and make sure the mask remains properly applied and sealed after positioning.
How do I put it on before my MRI?
